- Kala Namak (Black Himalayan Salt): A form of rock salt known as Kala namak. It's a salty, pungent-smelling condiment popular in South Asia. It's also known as "Himalayan black salt," and it's usually found in Nepal's Himalayas. Its pungent odour is due to its high sulphur/sulphite mineral concentration, which is especially beneficial if your diet excludes animal products. This is because Kala Namak is an excellent egg replacement.
