Peak Supps Pyridoxal 5 Phosphate (P-5-P) is the active form of Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine). Vitamin B6 is required for over 100 biological functions within the body. A lot of the bodies chemical reactions are dependent on vitamin B6s ability to work as a coenzyme, with other enzymes to support important cellular functions.
For example it is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters and works with folate and vitamin B12 in the metabolism of homocysteine and the formation of red blood cells. P5P Vitamin B6 contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism
It is also required for enzymes that metabolize carbohydrates, fats and proteins. P5P facilitates the release of glycogen from the liver and muscles, which is used in energy production.
