Description
- In one of the most picturesque and delightful plagues in the world, the Center of Lake Como, there are olive groves at the northern limit of the cultivation of the species. The first settlements were made by Greek slaves following the Romans and the particular sweetness of the lake climate allowed the spread of the crop over a fairly large area.
- It is therefore a culture full of traditions and the oil produced is always appreciated for its typicality, linked both to the latitude and to the presence of fine cultivars such as the oil mill, an appreciation that also came from Queen Teodolinda who requested it from her canteen. This ancient tradition is continued in Lenno for hours in the oil mill of the Vanini brothers. The Vanini family's long history of mills began in 1850.
